I am a fan of  The Hunger Games trilogy. I felt Ben would have made an awesome Haymitch. Mockingjay.net is doing fan casting of Plutarch currently. Could totally buy Ben as Plutarch ! Wishful thinking but he is doing Dr. Who which was previously wishful thinking   This would be great exposure. Bad Kids Go to Hell being shopped at Cannes may also provide some exposure with the new respect (of sorts) that comics/graphic novel based properties are getting. I am still skeptical of the use of social media by studios but they may glance at numbers so remember to visit Ben pages on Facebook, tag your Tweets and Tumblr as well as any networks that have public access!

Exciting news about the premiere of Bad Kids Go To Hell , the upcoming film in which Ben has a small but important role. BKGtH is a example of  the studio using social media in the right way. They launched the sites just before filming started so there was a product in place. I was unaware of this graphic novel but it seems they built on the book site successfully with the film. Hustled it at San Diego Comic Con and some other conventions.  The numbers I can see on Facebook and other sites seem to be growing. The producers have made good use of youtube. Big studios need to take note.

CORRECTION OF SORTS : According to director Matt Spradlin  the event in the above link is not a traditional premiere –it is a showing of the completed project to the cast and crew. So I assume this means it is not a press event so we won’t be seeing coverage or reviews.

Rumor is Ben will NOT be appearing at Comikaze this weekend. The benbrowderportal  has it confirmed by Ben’s “people” but the site has no mention at this time.

*****UPDATE********* Confirmed with the Man himself –NO COMIKAZE but all is well !

Ben’s appearance at Chevron 7.7 in the UK has been cancelled(to be rescheduled in spring 2012) BUT that is good news for those attending the Comikaze Expo in LA. He will be there promoting Bad Kids Go To Hell.
