A reminder about this year’s fundraiser which will start October 1. The charity is Alex’s Lemonade Stand which supports pediatric cancer research. It has been some years since we have raised funds for them. They have a 96% rating with Charity Navigator . The page will also allow you to use PayPal and accepts any amount of donation. There will be several auctions including a special item created by Sprite Lady and signed by Ben.

Bad Kids Go will likely be released in 2016 — details to follow!

As most of you know Ben’s mystery film project is Outlaws and Angels which stars Chad Michael Murray, Luke Wilson, and Francesca Eastwood. It is written and directed by JT Mollner and was filmed on location in New Mexico. As soon as a release date is announced I will pass it on. Time to start talking about Ben’s birthday ! There will be two ways to celebrate this year. The traditional fundraiser which will allow direct donations as well as auctions to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand which funds pediatric cancer research. The second idea I am snurching from another fandom. The idea would be for y’all to send a greeting — and we will create a digital card. You can start sending these anytime — angie@benbrowder.net . I would suggest including where you are located — these will be like the old school con books. Check out what the Nathan Page fans did with little lead time as they only recently learned his birth date!

Still awaiting distribution news for Where the Bad Kids Go and details of the project Ben is currently filming. He has been there over 2 weeks which sounds promising 🙂

No news on Ben’s project at this point . I am at the SG Con in Chicago where Ben fans abound despite him being unable to attend. Did pick up a bit of news at the Novel writer’s Breakfast yesterday. A new podcast series will be launching this fall and Ben is one of the first interviews. You can sign up now at dialhomepodcast.com to receive notification of when they are live.

Those planning on attending the Chicago SG con this weekend by now hopefully know Ben will not be there. He let me know Sunday but was still trying to work it out. He is filming a movie —details to follow. we should group together Sunday and do a Hell Yea for him. I told him we would keep the Farscape spirit alive 🙂

Just announced Gatecon has canceled Ben Browder.The entire con will likely be canceled(if this is the case there will be refunds). They announced this on their Facebook page and have not updated their web page.

If you haven’t been to a small con and want to see/meet Ben Browder then Gatecon would be a perfect opportunity. Is the cost worth it you may be asking? As an experienced con goer who loves the big cons like#SDCC ,#DragonCon , and #Fedcon theyy are big experience and great for meeting other fans etc. Some wonderful panels but you do spend much of your time waiting in line. You get a few minutes to speak at the autograph table where actors like #BenBrowder try to make sure you get your moment. Not all actors bother but he does as do the guests scheduled for #GateconLondon. At the smaller cons like this there is a meet and greet included Thursday night for the deluxe ticket. American fans these are not what you have experienced.if you have attended a cocktail party or meet and greet. They more closely resemble a real life party. Laid back and relaxed. People standing in groups with or without a guest. Conversation is wide ranging like a “real” party. Events can be a couple of hours which allows for expanded discussions. So check your bank balances and passports. UK fans the hotel is near Twickenham so you may know some reasonable accommodations in the area and it is on the Picadilly line. The last con I attended had 75,000. I had the second tier ticket which means nothing really in a crowd that size. Fun? Yes. Memorable? No.

The birthday fundraiser will be back this year with a start date of October 1. At this time the charity is Alex’s Lemonade Stand which raises funds for pediatric cancer research. We have raised money for them before and whenever I ask him he says “I trust you”. My reasons for choosing it are great cause,ease of donation, and more of your money goes to the charity (many of the third party sites take 3% which is fine but we are a small fund raiser so every dollar counts !). There will be several auctions and Ben told me he has something special to contribute for the auction. If you would like to contribute an item or have your own auction and donate the proceeds please do and let me know so I can spread the word !

Check the In Person page to see where you can see Ben yourself ! I have not confirmed yet he will be at Comikaze Expo in Los Angeles in October but soCal fans may want to keep that weekend (October 30-November 1) open !

Check out Instagram , Tumblr and all your usual go to spots for more Saturn Award photos. Most are pretty similar and if you are like me your feeds are getting a bit saturated with the same photos!
